There are many customizable graphic, good (including MIDI music and address output), find and scoring options. Six different computer opponents are available for when you are unable to arrive online, or merely want to exercise privately.
Piquet is a back of exchanging cards, declaring combinations, and playing tricks with the object of scoring more points than the computer opposing. Each back, or "partie", comprises 6 rounds. Piquet is one of the oldest carte games and is widely regarded to be the finest and most challenging carte back ever devised for two players.
Each round starts by the players exchanging some of their cards with fresh cards from the "talon" (the stock). The announcement phase follows during which the players endeavor to out bid each other's Point (farseeing suit), Sequences (runs) and Sets (iii or foursome of the same order). The winner in each category gobs points for the winning announcement and any additional sequences or sets, respectively. Finally the cards are played as tricks, with points awarded for leading and capturing tricks.
The challenge of Piquet is to counterpoise the convert, the declarations and the legerdemain winning in place to make the maximum advantage over the opposing. Special bonuses exist in both the announcement and legerdemain phases for the artful player.
